This article is a full version of Landy 2007c. The history of the EARS project if discussed at length describing all aspects of the project that have led to its state in late 2007. The final section of the article announces future plans which include the continuation of EARS as well as a new EARS Pedagogical project consisting of three aspects: one related to appreciation and based on the author’s and Rob Weale’s Intention/Reception project, one based on understanding to be called EARS II and one based on creativity, the software called Sound Organiser that was in development when the article was published.
