In this article, the author's concept of the ‘something to hold on to factor' is introduced for electroacoustic music. After a large repertoire survey, categories of musical and extra-musical aspects have been compiled which can be of use to help new listeners find ways into the wealth that can be discovered in electroacoustic music.
