In this article, the authors discuss problems concerning the sustainability of live electroacoustic music works, noting that many historical works can hardly be performed now because the technologies used have been lost and no long-standing notational precaution was taken at the time of their performance. Through case studies of particular instances they introduce some techniques that may lead to partial solutions to the problem.
