This article presents an interview with composer Gerard Pape about his work involving electronics and computers. It includes his background in computer music and his early formative influences. He discusses the use of the computer in generating and structuring sound from an aesthetic perspective and the appeal that electronic/computer music holds for him. He also discusses the impact that his studies in psychoanalysis and the life and work of writer Antonin Artuad has had on his compositional philosophy.
