Language: English

The author analyses the four early electronic works (see table of contents) of Karlheinz Stockhausen to determine which factors led the composer to realise these works and to define his concepts of musical form. Stockhausen's instrumental music aesthetic is found to be closely related to his first experiences in electronic music. With a study of musical form, the author links the four electronic works to certain instrumental works.
