Language: English

In this essay, the author discusses the basis of what might be called the aesthetics of electroacoustic music. He offers a definition of electroacoustic music, and defines and discusses the term 'language' in the context of electroacoustic music. Moving into aesthetic considerations he discusses the extent to which and why electroacoustic music is an art form. He also places a particular focus on the importance of the listener's role and the listening experience in general, in establishing the basis of an aesthetics of electroacoustic music.
