The author presents a history of electroacoustic music in Canada from Gilles Tremblay's Ondes Martenot Études of the 1950s to festivals in the 1980s. After an introduction on Theremin's revolution and The Ondes Martenot in Canada, he focuses on several artists and composers: the film maker Norman McLaren, the composers Hugh LeCaine, István Anhalt, Otto Joachim, Pierre Mercure, Myron Schaeffer and younger composers who started their career in the 1970s. The second part contains a presentation of Canadian studios from 1959 to 1983.
