This article presents a conversation-style interview with Larry Austin in which he discusses his work as a composer. He reflects on a particular work, Canadian Coastlines in which he generated musical parameters by mapping the geographical features of the Canadian coastline. He also discusses his approaches to tape music, organisational systems and mixed work compositions, those that combine traditional and technological mediums.
