In this chapter, the author discusses the importance of strengthening the relationship between scientists and musicians working in the field of music technology, a relationship that requires the linking of disciplines that in many respects have little in common. In discussing these issues the author highlights particular technological developments through which he demonstrates how the scientists' knowledge can be useful to composers and vice versa.
