In this article, the author discusses the PODX interactive compositional system - a series of programs that implement a model of interactive composition that allows the user to design sounds and/or structures with immediate aural feedback of the synthesised results. This system has historical significance in terms of the development of electroacoustic devices and DSP techniques.
