The author discusses the situation of European computer music, in three parts:
- “Mutation” describes the new role of the computer in musical research studios at the beginning of the 80s.
- “Prolongements” explains how the studios had focussed their research on software development and concert production.
- “Nouveaux venus” concerns the new studios of the 80s.
The author concludes with a short description of the corpus, its distribution and the relationships between the various research centers.
