In 1982, 83 and 84 a questionnaire containing twenty-one questions was sent to over thirty composers experienced in the computer medium. Composers were asked to respond to five of the questions; fourteen composers responded. This article presents the responses from eight participants: Klarenz Barlow, Marc Battier, John Bischoff, Joel Chadabe, Conrad Cummings, Giuseppe Englert, David Jaffe and Stephen Kaske, these represent the wide spectrum of opinions and attitudes (of the time) that were solicited through the questionnaire.
