In this article, the author addresses problems in the relationship between performer and musical instrument. He focuses on two particular gesture-based instruments: the Dada Glove, and the Sonar System. He introduces the concept of ‘synchronicity', which proposes that sound and gesture should be synchronous events relative to the performer.
