Ecology is the study of the relationship between individuals and communities and their environment. Acoustic or soundscape ecology is thus the study of the effects of the acoustic environment, or soundscape, on the physical responses or behavioural characteristics of those living within it. Ecología Acústica
La ecología es el estudio de las relaciones entre los individuos y el medio ambiente, y entre las comunidades y su entorno. El paisaje sonoro o Ecología Acústica es entonces el estudio de los efectos del entorno acústico, o paisaje sonoro, sobre las respuestas físicas o las características de comportamiento de quienes allí viven. Su finalidad específica es dirigir la atención hacia ciertos desfasajes que pueden tener efectos desfavorables o poco saludables.
