In this brief article, the author discusses the aesthetic characteristics of the two principal parts of the loudspeaker: the mechanical membrane and the loudspeaker box/cabinet. Through a series of art works entitled Music from Nowhere, he investigates how each of these objects, when separated, retain independent aesthetic implications that are related to the worlds of sound music, and audio.
