In this article Le Corbusier explains the basic mathematical principles of the Modular which appears on the cover of this issue of Gravesaner Blätter. The Modulor is based on two number sequences which relate to one another on the basis of the golden mean. Le Corbusier continues to demonstrate how this principle is applied in some of his architectural work.

In diesem Artikel erläutert Le Corbusier ansatzweise die mathematische Herleitung des Modulors, der auf dem Titelblatt der Gravesaner Blätter abgebildet ist. Der Modulor setzt sich aus zwei Zahlenreihen zusammen, die sich zueinander verhalten wie die Proportionen des „goldenen Schnitts“. Darüber hinaus legt Le Corbusier die Auswirkungen dieses Prinzips auf sein architektonisches Schaffen dar.
