In the first part of this paper, the author retraces the history and key qualities of electroacoustic concert: loudspeaker configuration and inside space versus outside space. The second part studies five loudspeaker configurations for different types of music:
- Simple configurations: 2 and 4 loudspeakers around the listener - A mixed configuration for mixed works - Complex configurations : the acousmonium and spatialisateur (IRCAM)
To conclude, the author presents his view of future revolutions relevant to the electroacoustic concert based on new media.
