In this article, the authors present a comprehensive overview of 'tactile composition' or aesthetic composition for the sense of touch. This system facilitates the composition and perception of intricate, musically structured spatio-temporal patterns of vibration on the surface of the body; musical sounds are represented as tactile sensations on the 'listener's' skin.
