This chapter discusses the technical development that have already started to take place in order to address the problem on human-machine interaction and control for music. The author presents the notion of mapping body gestures onto computer-based musical instruments and on the limitations of the gestures themselves for control of new complex digital instruments.

Este capítulo trata el desarrollo técnico relacionado con la problemática vinculada a la interacción hombre-máquina y el control musical. El autor propone la noción de mapeo de gestos corporales sobre instrumentos musicales basados en computadoras y sobre las limitaciones de los gestos mismos, para el control de nuevos instrumentos digitales complejos.
