The goal of the Intention/Reception project is to introduce a dynamic methodology into electroacoustic music research, one that has been designed to investigate how accessible electroacoustic music can be. In this paper, the author offers a brief introduction to the Intention/Reception project and then presents some key statistical results from a pilot project used to beta-test the methodology.
A complete account of the project can be found in: Weale, R. 2005. The Intention/Reception Project: Investigating the Relationship Between Composer Intention and Listener Response in Electroacoustic Compositions. PhD Thesis. De Montfort University, Leicester, UK.
