Michel Chion explains how he composes: the recording, the sound structures, his poetic inspiration... but the important thing is the result, how the composer works is less important. After this short introduction, Chion presents the electroacoustic equipment he uses as well as his view of the differences between real-time and non-real-time acousmatic music approaches. He also explains the place of voice, sound transformation, violence and melodies in his music as dramatic characters.
