This article presents an interview with Jean-Jaques Perrey, a pioneer of popular electronic music and inventor of the Ondioline, an electronic musical instrument with timbral flexibility that enabled it to closely reproduce the sound of melodic instruments as well as a wide variety of electronic timbres. Perrey discusses the technical and musical operations of the Ondioline, reflects on several of his performances and offers his thoughts concerning the developments in electronic instruments since the 1960s.
