In this brief article, the author discusses how modern audio recording and reproduction systems and techniques have created a vastly different listening space for music as a cultural practice, and that this new 'interior' space is one in which electroacoustic music has its genesis, and one that the medium exploits. He proposes the creation of new hybrid listening and performing spaces in which electroacoustic composers can find new ways to meet and engage with their audiences.
