In this article, the author notes that there is not a commonly accepted notational model that approximates the structural dynamics of electroacoustic music, in particular, attributes such as spatialisation that fall outside of two dimensional graphic scoring techniques. In addressing this situation he proposes a systems dynamic model that is based on spectromorphology as way of explaining sound shapes. The model is designed as an aid to composition as it maps a dynamic taxonomy for structural listening, capturing a formal rather than semiotic discourse.
