From a 1959 perspective, the author discusses contemporary music and the new possibilities of creation using tape recording and electronic technologies.
Asuar also describes the first electronic music studio established in Chile during the late 50s and what led up to it, and then he briefly analyses Variaciones Espectrales, the piece he composed at that lab.
Asuar focuses on elektronische musik vs. musique concrète as well as electronic music notation.
