This paper presents a brief survey of computer music in Brazil. After an introduction to computer music methods and types of software, the author offers a brief presentation of six composers and their works: Conrado Silva, Jorge Antunes, Aluízio Arcela, Didier Guigue, Edson Zampronha and James Correa. To conclude, he discusses approaches to computer music composition as they have shifted and developed across different generations of composers.
