In this paper, the author outlines a framework through which ecological perception theory can be applied to the analysis of music. He then uses this framework to conduct a brief perceptually-motivated analysis of Strugglin by the artist Tricky. He argues that the ecological approach to perception when applied to music analysis may make the connection with the meaning and critical impact of music more obvious.
