In this article, the author comments on the extent to which technology is beginning to facilitate a flow of ideas between high art and popular art, and so has the potential to begin breaking down the barriers that exist between the two. He characterises the current culture of computer music and discusses the means through which computer music of the 'high art' culture might begin to access a broader audience.
