In this article, the authors address the need for establishing a creative digital arts curriculum and an appropriate model of compositional practice within this curriculum. The author's insights are based on a range of qualitative data that was drawn from a collaborative arts project (December 2000 - march 2001) in which students and young offenders used digital technologies to collect sonic and visual material that they then used to compose various audio/visual works.
